Therapy is personal to you, and it is important that you are in control of what your support looks like.

What happens in the first session?

Therapy sessions are unique to the individual. During the first session we will be able to chat about your needs, make a plan for support and book in a number of sessions for you.

Therapy sessions normally last 1 hour and are booked at the same time on the same day. These sessions can be weekly or fortnightly.

It is important that you feel comfortable in the space, and we can review how sessions feel and whether we need to adapt anything to suit your needs.

For children and young people, or anyone requiring some space to feel safe in the room, we can spend time exploring the room, and art materials (if appropriate) until it feels safe to engage.

The therapy space

Bradford Art Therapy is located in Idle, a small village in Bradford, West Yorkshire. The space is located a small walk from main bus routes and the nearest train stations are Apperley Bridge, and Shipley.

The building is a community space, which includes a dance theatre, canteen, and our therapy room. Therapy is offered in a confidential space.

Car parking facilities

Parking is available directly next to the building. The car park is located down a pebbled path and through a set of black gates. Parking space is dependent on activities that are ongoing during the day, however there is parking in Idle village a short distance from the building.

Digital options:

We appreciate that not everyone feels comfortable attending sessions face-to-face, so we are able to offer remote therapy sessions via zoom or telephone.
